Transport on the island
The island, which is about 40 kilometres across at its widest point, is served by an extensive network of main and minor roads.
 It has more than 200 kilometres of signposted cycle routes made up of minor roads and cycle paths, enabling cyclists to ride around the island in peace and quiet. Look for the dark green and blue signs.
The island's district bus services operate the greater part of the island and the majority of the buses drive from Rønne. Rønne itself is served by town buses, while local buses serve the rest of the island on school days.
Taxis operate throughout the island and there are permanent taxi stands at the ferry terminal and airport, where you also find a special air-taxi-service. Read more about the air-taxi-service here.
Bornholm has no motorways or traffic jams, and Bornholm's railway is a thing of the past.
